Gary Iskowitz, CPA



SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE


Gary Iskowitz has developed a high degree of technical expertise in taxation with regard to corporations, partnerships, individual estates and trusts. His unique combination of experience with structuring business transactions and tax planning prove vital in dealing with general business. He has also served as a trustee for clients with real estate holdings and as executor of estates. He was previously with the Internal Revenue Service and the accounting firm of Kenneth Leventhal.  His eleven years with the IRS included diverse managerial and technical responsibilities. In his last position with the IRS, Mr. Iskowitz was responsible for managing technical employees and making policy decisions for the audit division in Baltimore, Maryland. For over sixteen years, he has taught graduate‑level corporate and partnership tax law courses at various universities throughout the country.  He has previously served on editorial boards of Accounting Today and Accountant’s Tax Weekly  In the past served on the IRS Commissioner's Advisory Group. Previously, was appointed by Secretary of Treasury to serve on the Taxpayer Advocacy Group. In 1970 he founded the VITA program at California State University, Northridge. The program is currently the largest university VITA program in the country and now is in most major universities. He has recently been selected by the Secretary of the Treasury to serve for three years on the Taxpayer Advocacy Panel.  He currently serves on the Boards of Maxonlift Corporation, San Francisco Giants Baseball and was formerly a board member of Playboy Enterprises.
